Project Manager/Superintendent 


Hardin Builders, Inc. a Chicagoland general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Superintendent. Must have at least 4 years plus field experience working for a General Contractor on residential construction projects. Candidate must possess strong technical, communication skills and leadership abilities to run daily construction activities and documentation. Applicants must have a comprehensive understanding of residential construction means and methods. Position is for consulting level per project 1099. If candidate works out they will be brought on as full time employee. Must be able to commute throughout the Northern Illinois area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to daily:

  • 
Managing and coordinating schedules and subcontractors from inception to close out
- Maintaining excellent relationships with clients, architects/engineers, and subs

  • Reviewing requisitions and invoices
  • 
Quality control of the work product

  • Scheduling the sub-contractors work, inspections and deliveries(via Microsoft Projects)
  • 
Supervising other company employees
  • 
Handling day to day questions on plans and construction requirements
  • 
Initiate communication R.F.I.’s, reports

  • Maintaining daily logs, inspection logs and engineering logs
  • 
Producing & maintaining as built records

Requirements:

  • 
Computer efficient with Microsoft Word, Excel & Microsoft Project Schedule
  • 
Degree in Engineering or Construction Management strongly preferred
  • 
At least 4 years’ experience in Residential Construction Management

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • OSHA Safety Requirements necessary, certification encouraged
